This is the first step in your new career as a security guard.   California state law requires that, prior to being assigned to a post, you MUST complete this training.  

The cost for this initial 8 hour course is $65.00.

Or, Prepay the entire course (40 Hours) for just $200.00!

In addition, you must complete a further 16 hours within the first 30 days, and another 16 within 6 months of the date of issuance of your license. 

There are fees associated with this course. They are as follows

Fingerprint Fees:

Guard Card only:

• Site Rolling Fee: $15.00
• DOJ Fingerprint Fee: $32.00
• FBI Fingerprint Fee: $19.00
• Total: $66.00

Guard Card with Firearms:

We do not currently conduct the firearms courses, but we offer the rolling service for it, so you can take advantage of the cheaper cost associated with doing the guard card and firearms fingerprints at the same time (Save $66!).   We are looking to begin the firearms courses in April.

BSIS Licensing Fees:

Guard Card only: $51.00 paid online AFTER completion of your class.

Firearm: $80.00

Upon completion of this class, and successfully passing an FBI and DOJ background check, you will be able to register for your Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card and commence employment as a security guard in California.*   You CANNOT work armed until you have the physical license in your hands!

Refund Policy:

We have a strict refund policy which we adhere to, due to limited space.

Failure to pass background check:   The livescan services available on site are not controlled by CPS, nor does CPS have any influence or participation in the background check process.   If you pay for a class, and are denied a guard card by BSIS, we cannot provide a refund, nor will Secure Live Scan provide a refund for the scan.

Inability to make a class:   We require 48 hours cancellation notice for a full refund.   If you find you cannot make the class within that 48 hours, you may reschedule your training with us for another date, or forfeit your registration.  

Refunds may take 2 business weeks to be issued.
